The Desoto Eagles are one of the few remaining undefeated teams in Texas HS Football. Their success this season can easily be credited to their star quarterback destroying opposing defenses.
In September, QB Shawn Robinson threw for 854 yards and 9 touchdowns (4 Passing, 5 rushing) making him our XENITH TexasHSFootball Offensive Player Of The Month for September.
Shawn Robinson has already thrown for 1,486 yards this this season, averaging 209 yards per game in the air. He has also led the team on the ground with 461 yards rushing, with 357 of those yards in the month of September. To date he has been responsible for 15 touchdowns (8 passing and 7 rushing) with nine of those touchdowns in September (4 passing 5 rushing). Shawn has committed to TCU, however some doubt he’ll stick with the horned frogs as national signing day approaches in 2017.
In September I had the opportunity to see Shawn Robinson play in person as the Desoto Eagles took on the Cedar Hill Longhorns in our TexasHSFootball Game Of The Week. In my career I have had the opportunity to play with some great quarterbacks, and have seen the best in action. Shawn definitely has the tools and the look every D1 coach is looking for. He’s big, He’s fast, and has a cannon for an arm. There is no doubt Shawn Robinson has a bright future in front of him. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this young man playing on Sundays in the future.
