Friday night in Zephyr, Texas, the Lometa Hornets moved one step closer to their goal of a
postseason berth. After starting off slow, with penalties and mistakes leaving the score 20 to 0
at the end of the 1st quarter, Lometa picked it up in the second period. Senior Enrique Prado
turned in another gutsy performance, to the tune of 5 total scores and 197 all purpose yards.
The Hornets seemed to impose their will on both sides of the ball, with 2 takeaways leading to
scores. Towards the end of the 3rd quarter, and leading 49 to 7, Lometa opted to kick a 35 yard
field goal by Luis Hernandez on 4th and 8 to end the game due to 6 man football’s 45 point
mercy rule, with the final score being 53 to 7.
Lometa improved to 6-1 (1-0) and will play 4-1 (0-
1) Evant next Friday at home. The Elks are 4 point favorites. Zephyr dropped to 1-6 (0-1) and
will play 7-1 (1-0) Jonesboro next week.

Jonesboro 78 – Evant 31
