SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Southlake Carroll Head Coach Hal Wasson has been placed on paid administrative leave pending a review of the program in a statement relased by Carroll ISD on Wednesday.

Per the statement, athletic director Darren Allman, assistant superintendents within the school district and the Human Resources department will conduct the review, focusing on three main areas.

▪ The culture of the football program as it compares to the district expectations and the upholding of the district’s core values.

▪ Procedures as they relate to UIL rules.

▪ Ensuring employees’ understanding and compliance with district policies, practices and guidelines.

Wasson finished his 11th season as the head coach of the Dragons, compiling a 121-25 record during his tenure as head coach. Southlake Carroll finished 10-4 in 2017 advanced to the Class 6A Division II state quarterfinals. Under Wasson’s tenure, the Dragons won a state title back in 2011. It was the school’s eighth title, tied for the most in the state.

The school district also said in their statement that they had been in contact with the UIL and would share the results of their review when their investigation is completed.
