Team Cancels Football Season

Sad news to report for a 1A Six-Man team out of the panhandle. The Darrouzett Longhorns have canceled their 2024 football season. 

Darrouzett is a small town with just over 300 residents. The high school has an enrollment of just 25, which ties them for the second smallest UIL school. With just 25 students, fielding a team has been a challenge.

With the Longhorns not fielding a team this year, District 1-1A Division II will be down to just four teams:  Follett, Groom, Lefors, and Miami.
