The hits keep on coming for the Houston Texans in 2017. The team dropped the first game of the season to the Jacksonville Jaguars 29-7 and benched starting QB Tom Savage at halftime.
During the loss to the Jags TE C.J. Fiedorowicz suffered his second concussion of the season, which placed him and all other active tight ends on the injured reserve for Houston.
The Texans will reportedly start Deshaun Watson at quarterback on Thursday in Cincinnati.
Today, the team was informed that LB Brian Cushing will be suspended 10 games for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.
#Texans LB Brian Cushing is suspended for the next 10 games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. Wow.

Cushing was suspended in 2010 for violating the PED policy after being named rookie of the year in 2009.The Houston defense wasn’t exactly playing great on Sunday as is, giving up 100 yards rushing the Jags rookie RB Leonard Fournette and allowing QB Blake Bortles to throw for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Houston will need defensive stars JJ Watt and Jadeveon Clowney to step up and fill more of the void left behind in Cushing’s absence.Houston travels to Cincinnati on Thursday night and luckily for the Texans if there was one team that had a worse start to the season than them, it was the Bengals.
