The Houston Texans went with a native Texan for their first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Houston selected TCU defensive tackle Ross Blacklock (Missouri City Elkins) with the 40th overall pick of the draft on Friday.
The Horned Frogs interior defensive lineman finished with 40 tackles, 3.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss this past season.
Before going to Fort Worth, Blacklock was a U.S. Army All-American at Elkins and was rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports.
The Texans finished the 2019 regular season with a 10-6 record and won the AFC South before losing to eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City in the Divisional Playoffs.
