Even though the Texas high school football season may be over, there is still another high school game that will be played at AT&T Stadium right before Christmas.
The Blue-Grey All-American Bowl kicks off this week and will feature several prospects from all across the country. The majority of the Texas players represented will be on the West squad, where they will face off against the East squad against players from Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania among other.
Cibolo Steele quarterback Xavier Martin will be one standout on the West squad. He’ll be playing one more game at AT&T Stadium, just days after playing in the 6A Division II State Championship. Steele fell to DeSoto 38-29. Martin is already committed to Texas Tech, but the senior quarterback will look to put in a good performance.
Frisco Independence running back Dominic Williams will also be featured in this game. Williams had a stellar senior season, rushing for 2,091 yards and 29 touchdowns. The Kansas commit was a big part for the Knights in 2016, who made the playoffs and lost in the area round to eventual 5A Division I State Champion Highland Park.
Finally, an El Pasoan is getting his chance to play in another all-star game this week. El Paso Eastwood offensive lineman David Ash will be participating in the game. Like Martin, Ash is coming off of playing in a game just a few days ago. In Ash’s case, he played in the Greater El Paso Football Senior Showcase at the Sun Bowl. Ash is currently uncommitted, but UTEP might be on his radar. Just last year, they brought in another Trooper in Greg Long, who started at times for the Miners this season.
The game kicks off on AT&T Stadium this Thursday and will be broadcast via tape-delay at 3 p.m. Central Time.
