This week, the TexasHSFootball.com Hummer will be heading to Cameron, Texas to catch the Cameron Yoe vs. China Spring game!
Last year this game came down to the wire, with China Spring emerging as the victor in a 43-41 slugfest. The Yoemen burned through the rest of their schedule after that before eventually losing to Brock in the 3A D1 State Title Game. The Yoemen are a known commodity, winning three titles in a row across 2A and 3A from 2012 to 2014. Last year broke the 4-peat, and it’s safe to say that the Cameron Yoe revenge tour starts here.
As for China Spring, they were pushed out of the playoffs by La Vega last year. This is a team that’s looking to break into prominence in 4A, a team that has a lot to prove. China Spring doesn’t have the title game chops that Cameron Yoe does, but rest assured, this is a program looking for a breakout season. If they can defeat a powerhouse like Cameron Yoe twice in two years, especially in the Yoemen’s own house in the upcoming matchup, it would provide legitimacy to this rising power.
Both teams have breezed through their schedules so far by scoring points in bucketloads. Cameron Yoe’s Sicorey Smith caught a staggering 5 touchdowns last week and returned a kick for another as the Yoemen lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 69 points. China Spring hasn’t allowed more than 12 points in the two games that they’ve played.
This game is going to feature some points. When the Yoemen and the Cougars met last year, they were all over the board in China Spring’s 43-41 victory.

Both teams are stacked, and they have a history together. This is going to be a fun one. We’ll see y’all out on the road.
