1. Cypress Woods 36, Cypress Lakes 33 – The Cy Woods Wildcats executed a 99 yard drive with three minutes left to take the lead away from Cy Lakes and put themselves in front for good. The Wildcats stopped a four game losing streak with the victory, bringing their record to 2-5 on the season. The loss drops Cypress Lakes to 2-5 as well, and both teams are facing uphill battles in their district that either of them would have to completely win out to advance out of. Regardless, this was a good win for Cy Woods, and certainly a dramatic watch for the fans.

2. Frisco 38, Frisco Heritage 35 – Frisco only completed a single pass in this game, but it was a 59 yard bomb for the go-ahead score. You read that right, Cade Wright only went 1-7 on the night, but came up clutch when needed, hitting Jamal Stanfield within the last minute for the score. Frisco was undefeated until playing Lone Star, then subsequently lost by three touchdowns to Frisco Independence. Independence is 5-1, but I don’t think the Raccoons were expecting to get beaten like that. Getting this clutch win against a relatively poor Heritage team doesn’t put the Raccoons completely back on track, but it’s still a good start.

3. The Woodlands 42, Oak Ridge 2 – Who’s going to stop The Woodlands? Every single good or average team they play ends up meeting the exact same fate: a 20+ point blowout. They’ve consistently proven that they’re one of the most dangerous teams in all of 6A, and there’s no real reason to doubt them at all anymore. If you aren’t on The Woodlands’s bandwagon, there’s plenty of room. Hop on, we won’t tell anyone, you can act like you were here from the beginning. In all seriousness, any team that gets crushed by The Woodlands shouldn’t take it too hard. You’re still a good team, they’re just playing on another level right now.
