Trophy Club’s Byron Nelson Set for Major Stadium Upgrade

Austin Roof Inspection

Byron Nelson High School is getting a major upgrade. Construction will begin this summer on a brand-new football stadium right on campus in Trophy Club. The 7,500-seat stadium will be the centerpiece of a wide-ranging expansion project and is expected to be ready for the 2027–28 school year.

As first reported following the Trophy Club Town Council’s April 28 meeting, the stadium is part of the district’s 2023 $1.9 billion bond package aimed at expanding and enhancing facilities across Northwest ISD. The Byron Nelson project includes more than just a stadium—it features upgrades to the basketball arena, performing arts center, baseball and softball field lighting, ag shop, and cafeteria.

The stadium will hold 4,500 fans on the home side and 3,000 on the visitor side. It will include a weight room, security office, and plenty of storage. It’s being built where the current practice field sits, and a new field will be added nearby. VIP parking and even 100 spaces for golf carts are planned, nodding to Trophy Club’s golf-loving community.

With the school already competing at the 6A level and sharing a district stadium in Justin, Byron Nelson’s home stadium will bring Friday night lights directly to campus. It will be complete with a front entry facing the school and a fire lane built below the home stands for emergency access.
