The U.S. Army will be ending their sponsorship of the high school All-American Bowl in San Antonio after 2018. The move was first reported by John Ourand of Sport Business Journal.
Following the announcement, Douglas Berman, chairman of the All-American Games, released a statement saying in part that the game will be “moving forward with Bowl games in 2019 with our existing partners…and, potentially, a new title sponsor.”

The U.S. Army has been the title sponsor of the game for the last 16 years. As deputy assistant secretary of the Army for marketing Mark Davis told Meghann Myers of the Army Times, the decision had to do with the allotment of resources.
Davis told Myers, “The decision was difficult, but necessary to guarantee we remain the best stewards of the resources we are provided to ensure that America continues to value, support and consider joining the Army team.”
The game has been played in San Antonio since 2002. The East defeated the West team 27-17 in this year’s game on January 7.
