University Stuns China Spring 48-24

University traveled to China Spring on Friday and left with a statement win, rolling to a 48-24 victory. The Trojans controlled every quarter and built a 35-7 lead by the end of the third.

Quarterback Savoy Nichols was electric, throwing for 232 yards and two touchdowns while adding a career-high 37 rushing yards. Running back Ray Brown Jr. powered the ground attack with 85 yards and two scores on only 11 carries.

London Smith gave the Cougars’ secondary fits, hauling in 108 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, University’s defense made life miserable for China Spring, recording 5.5 sacks. Davontrae Kirkland led the charge with three, while Khylen Estelle chipped in four tackles, three for loss.

The Trojans improve to 2-1 and will host Shoemaker on Thursday night. China Spring drops to 1-2 and will look to bounce back at home against Springtown on Friday.
