Vandegrift opened its season with a strong 31-14 victory over Dripping Springs at Monroe Memorial Stadium. Quarterback Miles Teodecki made an impressive debut, passing for 226 yards and three touchdowns, with scoring connections of 34, 50, and 19 yards. The Vipers took a commanding 31-7 halftime lead, showcasing their offensive prowess.

Dripping Springs managed to put points on the board with quarterback Maddox Maher contributing 185 passing yards, including a touchdown pass, and a rushing score. However, the Tigers struggled against Vandegrift’s strong defense, which forced two turnovers and limited Dripping Springs’ offensive production.

Vandegrift’s Brendan Fournier added 86 rushing yards, highlighted by a crucial 52-yard touchdown run. With this win, Vandegrift improves to 1-0, preparing for a matchup against Cedar Park, while Dripping Springs looks to rebound against Wagner next week.

Next week, Vandegrift looks to go 2-0 as they play at Cedar Park. The Cedar Park Timberwolves went 9-4 last year and dropped their season opener this year, 43-45, to Harker Heights. Dripping Springs will look to get their first win of the year against San Antonio Wagner. It will be the Wagner Thunderbirds first game of the season.
