After getting off to a 1-3 start on the season, including dropping their first two district games, Frisco Wakeland seems to have righted the ship, winning their last three games and putting themselves back into the playoff race.

The Wolverines beat Frisco last night 42-14 to put their record over .500 for the first time this season.

Wakeland got on the board first, with a touchdown pass from Brennan Myer to Ben Patterson, Myer’s first of five touchdowns on the night.  A nineteen-yard touchdown run by Cooper Snyder made it 14-0 before Centennial got on the board.

The Titans found the end zone early in the second quarter, as Jace Patton found Brett Eskildsen on a 55-yard touchdown pass.  The Wolverines struck right back, as Myer hit Ashdyn Kahouch for a 23-yard touchdown pass.  The Wolverines scored again before halftime, this time it was Myer to Snyder for 20 yards and they took a 28-7 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Myer threw touchdown passes to Kahouch and Patterson before giving way to the backups.

Myer finished with 313 yards and the 5 touchdowns.  Snyder finished with 177 all-purpose yards, and the two touchdowns.  Trey Herbert finished with 108 yards receiving and a touchdown for Centennial.

The Wolverines (4-3, 3-2) look to extend their winning streak next week against Frisco Lebanon Trail.  Meanwhile, Centennial will be looking to get back on track against Frisco Liberty.

Wakeland knows they hold their own destiny.  If they win their last three games, they’ll finish somewhere in the top three in the district.
