Waxahachie imposed its will from the opening snap Friday night, powering past Waco Midway 48–16 in a Class 6A Division I Region II bi-district matchup at Panther Stadium. Behind a dominant ground attack and timely explosive plays, the Indians improved to 10–1 and advanced to the area round.

Taylen Furlough-Strange led the charge with 175 rushing yards and two touchdowns, pacing a Waxahachie offense that piled up 389 rushing yards and 494 total yards. Kohen Brown set the tone early with a 74-yard touchdown run on the second play of the game, and quarterback Jerry Meyer III delivered the first half’s biggest moment with a 50-yard strike to Jordan Smith just seconds before halftime, pushing the lead to 20–3.

Waxahachie stayed in full control after the break, opening the second half with a run-heavy drive capped by a nine-yard touchdown from Furlough-Strange. Smith added another score late as the Indians continued to wear Midway down. Waco Midway quarterback Andrew McNair threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns, with Tyler Seith hauling in 146 yards receiving, but the Panthers were held 30 points below their season average and outgained on the ground by 300 yards.

Waxahachie moves on with momentum, while Midway ends its season at 9–2.
