1A: Follett
Nearly 315 miles separate Follett and Borden County, the fifth-ranked school in 1A Division I, so the two decided to meet in the middle at Nazareth High School on Friday.
Despite the long bus ride, Follett came ready to play.
Jayden Watson got the Panthers going with a 77-yard pick-six in the second quarter, and Follett didn’t look back from there. Osiel Ventura had two touchdowns offensively and Shayne Franks added another pick-six for the defense as Follett steamrolled Borden County 40-8.
It was an impressive display for Follett, who will look to keep the momentum going when it travels to Paducah on September 30 after a bye week.
