5A Team of the Week: Killeen Shoemaker
Shoemaker had a night to remember last Friday.
First, the Wolves rallied to overcome a 12-point fourth quarter deficit against Lake Belton.
Jerrod Hicks scored from 13 yards out to cut the Lake Belton lead to 33-28 with eight minutes to go before senior running back Jamarius Stewart scored with just three seconds left to earn Shoemaker a dramatic 34-33 victory over a previously undefeated Lake Belton team.
Stewart finished with 117 rushing yards, while sophomore Malachi Jerome held down the fort in the passing game, finishing with 235 yards on 20 completions.

But Shoemaker head coach Toby Foreman didn’t just win on the field on Friday night.
After the game, live on KCEN-TV, Foreman proposed to his girlfriend, who quickly said yes, capping off a night that Foreman and his players will never forget.
