Week Seven 3A Team of the Week: Palmer Bulldogs
3A Team of the Week: Palmer Bulldogs
Palmer didn’t just beat Pottsboro, the number seven team in 3A Division I, it delivered a statement victory. The Bulldogs chased the Cardinals out of the stadium with a convincing 55-34 victory.
Much of the credit has to go to Palmer quarterback Eric Cisneros, who had a video-game numbers type of night. He threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns, which is impressive in itself, but he also added another 181 yards and five scores on the ground. Oh, and he caught a touchdown from freshman running back Sutton Maddox.

Jonathan Ventura was Cisneros’ go-to target in the passing game. The two connected six times for 126 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Jace Micheal Jones also had a touchdown catch for the Bulldogs.
Defensively, Ventura and Frankie Villarreal each forced fumbles, while Matthew Martinez had an interception.
With the win, Palmer quickly vaulted itself to the favorite to take home the District 6-3 Division I title. However, one big test still stands in the Bulldogs’ way. It will come this Friday when they travel to take on Whitesboro, the only other team that’s undefeated in district play so far.
