Week Ten 2A Team of the Week: Hawley
2A Team of the Week: Hawley Bearcats
Hawley relied on some brotherly love late in its showdown against Stamford.
With the Bearcats trailing 30-28 with under a minute to go, junior quarterback Keagan Ables found his freshman brother Camden. The completion looked like it would be enough to move the chains on fourth down. But instead, Camden had some magic up his sleeve.
He broke free from four Stamford defenders for a jaw-dropping 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown. That score would seal a 34-30 win that secured Hawley its sixth-straight district title. (Play at 1:46 below)
