Prosper came out swinging Friday night at Crusader Stadium, handing Westlake its first season-opening loss since 2014 in a 29-22 battle. The Eagles leaned on a massive offensive line and quarterback Braeden Imhoff, who threw three first-half touchdowns as Prosper built a 27-7 lead at the break. Dallas Boozer broke loose on a 78-yard catch-and-run, while Bryce Robinson ripped off a 44-yard scoring run to set the tone early.
Westlake fought back after halftime, holding Prosper without an offensive point the rest of the way. Rees Wise sparked the Chaps with a rushing touchdown and a clutch two-point toss to Rhett Jenkins to pull within one score. The defense forced a late punt to give Westlake a chance, but Prosper’s defense stood tall and forced a turnover on downs to seal it. A furious rally wasn’t enough, as Westlake’s opener streak ended at ten straight wins.
