Westlake Shuts Down Bowie in 30-7 Victory

Austin Roof Inspection

Westlake wasted no time taking control Friday night at Burger Stadium, jumping out to a 21-0 lead and cruising to a 30-7 win over Bowie. Even without standout defender Maddox Flynt, the Chaps’ defense looked sharp, stopping the Bulldogs three times inside the red zone.

The Bulldogs’ only points came on a 32-yard interception return by Vincent Villareal.

Quarterback Rees Wise led the way for Westlake with two touchdown passes, while running back Jarren Lopez added a rushing score.

The win moved the Chaps to 6-1 and 3-0 in district play as they now prepare for the highly anticipated Battle of the Lakes against No. 4 Lake Travis on October 24. Bowie (4-4, 1-3) will look to rebound against Akins on October 23.
