EL PASO- Week four is here in El Paso high school football, and even though it means a bye week for most, it means a lot more to other teams who actually have a game. Also, who says bye weeks aren’t important? If anything they build suspense for must-watch games next week.
Hanks-Canutillo to be a scrap win

Hanks and Canutillo come into Friday’s game both with the same mentality—proving time.
On one end, Canutillo dropped back-to-back tough games against Coronado and Bel Air, respectively. Canutillo needs to regroup in week five and show that they are still a force to be reckoned with in 2-5A. The problem for Canutillo seems to be consistency. They need to wrap around a more consistent attack rather than their go-to run game.
On the other end, however, Hanks has been proving week by week that they can hang with the tough teams. They are currently second in 2-5A, but that’s not where head coach Aaron Price wants to stop. Instead, he is looking forward to his upcoming district games, and maybe the first important game is against Canutillo.
This game could give the Knights a confidence boost that they need to power through anyone in the division.Expect this game to be a scrappy fight. You might not see a 34-7, 27-10 or 28-6 game. Rather, expect a dogfight resulting in a one-touchdown victory. Both teams have elements of a good team, and this may fare for a race for the last playoff spot.
Bel Air emerges against Parkland

The Highlanders are the obvious underdogs against a run-heavy Parkland team. But this Bel Air team might have something up their sleeves. Quarterback for the Highlanders Isaac Ybarra and linebacker Patrick Hernandez will be two definite threats to Parkland.
If standout running back Deion Hankins can help his team score a good amount early and make the Highlanders play catch-up for the entire game, it could get out of hand.
But, Hernandez will be having his eye on Hankins the entire night. The two will battle on the ground, down-for-down, and if Hernandez and the defense can quiet Hankins, Bel Air could pull away with the win.
Franklin-Pebble Hills, El Dorado-Eastwood rest for huge games next week

On a given Friday night when they aren’t coaching, most head coaching staffs will take a break and go scout other district teams at their respective games. That kind of preparation is for games like these.
Franklin and Pebble Hills will be a huge game for 1-6A. Pebble Hills Spartans head coach Mark Torres was the former offensive coordinator under Franklin head coach Darren Walker before taking the Spartans gig. And, last season Walker and his troop were able to put a sound victory on Pebble Hills.
However, this year with Pebble Hills resting atop the conference at 3-0, they will not let Franklin slip away so easily. This game could go down to the bitter end, with both teams trading shot after shot.

Eastwood and El Dorado have both made some noise going into next Friday’s game, yet their records do not reflect it. Both have a 1-2 record after they both played some vicious out of town opponents. However, the two squads look more prepared than ever and this matchup could turn into a scoring festival. It will come down to who turns the ball less in this game, and the one who’s under will emerge victorious.
So instead of going out and scouting their opponents, these four coaches will probably—if not already have been—religiously studying their opponent through film.
