The staff of TexasHSFootball.com is sharing who they think will win each district, once a day, for every district in 6A.

Even with new head coach James Farmer at the helm of the program, his familiar work as an assistant at Pearland will keep the program performing at a high level.
With 15 starters returning from an 8-4 team and two district losses, Pearland has the pieces moving into place to gear this team for a deep playoff run and keep the standard high at Pearland.
Prediction: Pearland
Tony Venegas
This district proved to be one of the toughest challenges in 2017 with the top four teams being very strong in their own right. Alief Taylor has Brennan Eagles returning but they must replace 18 starters from last year’s co-district title team. Pearland Dawson should be better as should
Richmond George Ranch in Year 2 of 6A play but I’m going to stick with the traditional power and pick Pearland.
The Oilers have nine returning starters on offense and six on defense that bring back plenty of experience. Even with former head coach Tony Heath stepping away from coaching, interim head coach James Farmer has been around the program long enough to keep the train going.
Competition will be tough but as I said, I think Pearland will have enough in the tank to get the job done in 2017.
Prediction: Pearland

District 23-6A appears to be a wide open race with Alief Taylor, Pearland, Pearland Dawson and Pearland George Ranch all entering the season with legitimate hopes of a league title. I think George Ranch is going to be just a step behind the other three premier teams in this district and Taylor is tasked with replacing do-it-all quarterback Dontay Warren. Courtesy of history, I’ll give the edge to Pearland to win the district over Dawson, George Ranch and Taylor.
The Oilers had what can be considered a down season by their standard at 8-4 last year and return an experienced line and a stout defense. More notably, though, the last three times Pearland won just eight games in a season, a trip to the state semifinals followed with two state championship appearances.
The Oilers are stacked, experienced and have history on their side.
Prediction: Pearland
Hunter Cooke
I’m a huge sucker for big-name teams and returning starters, and Pearland has the name and has returning starters, 15 to be exact, with a whopping nine on offense.
8-4 isn’t the norm for a Pearland team, but with so much returning, it’s hard not to pick the Oilers, even when you have a talented Alief Taylor team led by Brennan Eagles and a George Ranch team that I think is going to be pretty solid. Pearland has the returners, they have the prestige, and even in a coaching change, I like them a lot.
Prediction: Pearland
