One of the best kickers in Arizona State history and arguably the best kicker in the draft is officially off the board. Sun Devil kicker Zane Gonzalez was selected with the sith pick in the seventh round (224 overall) by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.
It was a senior season to remember for The Deer Park product. Gonzalez broke the NCAA record for most field goals in a career and broke the Pac-12 record for most points scored in a career. In his final season in Tempe, he was also a unanimous first team All-American and the Lou Groza Award winner given to the nation’s best kicker.
He becomes the second kicker taken off the board in the 2017 NFL Draft. Now, Gonzalez will look to make an impact with the Browns.
