2022 Preseason Fan Vote Best Tight End in Texas High School Football:
Mateo Grajeda, from Coronado High School
The fans of Coronado pretty much dominated this poll from start to finish. They helped Mateo jump off to an early lead, and added a few thousand votes each day. However, 4 other players received over 10k votes, Ian Flynt of Katy Taylor, Micah Hudson of Lake Belton, Mason Moore of Karnes City, and Alijah Jones of Hightower.
Mateo is a 6’4” 235lbs tight end and H-Back. He was 1st Team All District in 2021 and had a 4.1 GPA. We featured Mateo this month in a Player Spotlight. In the spotlight, we asked him why he loves football, and he answered:
“Football has been something I’ve been able to rely on throughout my life. The adrenaline and excitement of the game is just incomparable.”
