Highlights
Southland falls – The Eagles fell to a O’Donnell team, who missed the playoffs last season by 31 points. Despite a drop in the rankings, Southland fans should not panic, since the loss was against a tough team who will compete for a playoff spot in one of the toughest districts in Class 1A.
Defending Division one state champions fall – Abbott fell to a talented Milford team 43-8 as part of the Hico six-man Extravaganza that featured eight tough teams. The Panthers will continue to face questions with one starter returning on offense.
Look out for Jonesboro – The Eagles kicked off their season with a 56-8 victory against Iredell and they look to prove that their team is a state contender in 2016.
