They kept North Shore’s Bryant Badie down to 123 yards, 0 touchdowns, and forced an interception. It helps when you have players like Texas A&M commit, Derrick Tucker and Indian commit, Alfred Bryant. North Shore’s punter saw the field an unusual amount with having to punt 8 times in the game. If they can do that to top 6A team North Shore, this season should be a breeze.
They don’t just have one good running back, they have two. Caleb Jolivette and Sam Smith both had 6 carries in the game and each had 1 TD. Jolivette was averaging 8.5 yards per carry and Smith 7 besides that their numbers were almost identical. They are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
They are used to playing with the big dogs of 6A, which is part of the reason why they went into the game against North Shore as confident as they did. Finding a team that confident in themselves and who can execute like Manvel did is going to be tough in 5A. One of their losses last year was to Pearland though and that is who they go up against next so we will see if they can keep the train rolling.
