Top three stays put—The top three teams in our power rankings remained where they are after each team (Desoto, Allen and Judson) took care of business in week three. A lot can change in a week. But it won’t with these teams. Allen plays a 0-3 McKinney Boyd side. Desoto has a bye week after a long trip to west Texas. Judson has the toughest matchup scheduled against the New Braunfels Unicorns (2-1).
Mansfield slips from the Top 25—The Tigers slipped out of the top 25 following a rough loss from Flower Mound Marcus 41-31. After almost beating Cedar Hill in week two, the Tigers seemed primed to have a good stretch of games. But Marcus quickly ended their aspirations.
Lufkin and Pearland lose—After climbing the rankings for two straight weeks; both the Panthers and Oilers were defeated in week three. Lufkin fell to Parkway (LA) in a 69-54 shootout. Meanwhile, Pearland was blanked 36-0 by 5A powerhouse Manvel.
