Highlights
Guyer transfer hopes to make splash – Former Denton Guyer quarterback Shawn Robinson shocked most of the state when he and his entire family moved into the Desoto area. In Week Two, the two teams will play each other. For now, we are keeping Desoto at #1 but Robinson will have to prove himself in the upcoming weeks to stay there.
Texas vs. The World – This narrative will be beaten to death, but this week truly is Texas vs. The World. If Cedar Hill beats the tar out of Bishop Gorman, they might fly into a #1 national ranking and take our #1 spot. If they scrape by or lose, who knows. Either way, this is the most talent the Longhorns have had in a very long time, and the Longhorns could turn out to be one of those truly dominant teams.
George Ranch will have to earn it – George Ranch made an absolute statement in last year’s 5A state title game, blanking Texas Tech commit Jett Duffey and Mansfield Lake Ridge. Moving up a class is never easy, but if the Longhorns can hit the ground running, they could be contending for another title in December.
