It may be another 200-plus days until Texas high school football season kicks off again, but 7-on-7 football is on its way back into the picture. The Texas State 7 on 7 Association unveiled the schedules for both the qualifiers and state tournaments over the weekend.
The first Division II qualifiers begin on May 13 in Lorena and West Columbia. The first qualifiers for Division I begin on May 20 with tournaments in Frisco and Austin.
Division I consists of all 6A and 5A teams along with SPC and TAPPS Division I private schools. Division II consists of all public schools Class 4A and smaller along with private schools not in the SPC or TAPPS Division I.
The state tournament is scheduled from Thursday June 29 through Saturday July 1 at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station for both Division I and Division II.
The Woodlands and Kaufman are the defending champions in Division I and Division II respectively.
