Austin Roof Inspection

Over a year after Andrew Luck took a gig as a consultant for Palo Alto High School football, he will walk across the street and accept a new position at his old stomping grounds at Stanford University. After earning his Master’s in education at his alma mater, Luck will return to the team that made him a household name, taking on the role of Stanford Football General Manager.

“I am a product of this University, of Nerd Nation; I love this place,” Luck said in a statement. “I believe deeply in Stanford’s unique approach to athletics and academics and the opportunity to help drive our program back to the top. Coach Taylor has the team pointed in the right direction, and I cannot wait to work with him, the staff, and the best, brightest, and toughest football players in the world.”

In his new role, Luck will oversees the Cardinal Football program, including working with Coach Taylor regarding recruiting and roster management, as well as fundraising efforts, sponsorships, and stadium experience.

“Andrew Luck exemplifies the Stanford student-athlete,” said Stanford President Jonathan Levin in a statement. “I’m excited he’s returning to campus to help lead our football program and ensure that our student-athletes achieve excellence in the changing collegiate athletics environment.”

The No. 1 overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft, Luck shocked the football world seven years later, abruptly retiring and citing numerous injuries.

In total, in his NFL career, Luck was one of the best quarterbacks ever produced by the Lone Star State, logging 23,671 passing yards and 171 touchdowns over six seasons. As a former alumni of Stratford, Luck passed for 7,139 career yards and 53 touchdowns in three prep seasons, completing 488 of 824 passes (59.2%).
