Vandegrift shook off an uneasy start and stormed back after halftime to roll past Cedar Park 35-14 on Friday night at Monroe Stadium. For a while, the game looked like it might be tight. Then the Vipers took over.
Receiver Brock Chilton stole the spotlight, hauling in 11 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns while filling in for an injured starter. Quarterback Miles Teodecki kept feeding him, finishing with 207 yards and a pair of scores through the air.
The run game set the table early, with Justin Moore and Sam Brown punching in touchdowns before halftime. Once the defense settled in, it was lights out. The Vipers allowed fewer than 120 total yards in the second half and added three sacks to seal it.
For Vandegrift, it’s a big bounce-back win that puts them at 1-1 with momentum headed into district play. Cedar Park drops to 0-2, but they’ve got plenty of time to get their season back on track
