C.E. King came out on fire Friday night, exploding for 42 points before Summer Creek could even catch its breath. The Panthers scored touchdowns on their first five possessions and then forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff for another quick strike, building a 42-0 lead less than 17 minutes into the game at Turner Stadium.

Summer Creek finally broke through just before halftime when running back Braylin Causey punched in a short touchdown to stop the bleeding. The Bulldogs carried that spark into the second half, adding two more scores to cut the lead to 42-21 behind Causey and a big-play connection between quarterback Noah Spinks and receiver Jamicah Jones.

By the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs were rolling, clawing within two scores after a highlight-reel 40-yard grab by Benny Easter Jr. They recovered an onside kick — only to have it called back for not traveling the full 10 yards. From there, C.E. King’s defense clamped down, forcing a late turnover to seal the deal.

It was a tale of two halves: dominance early, desperation late. The Panthers improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in district play, their only loss coming to Dickinson. Summer Creek dropped to 5-1, their comeback falling just short after a thrilling second-half surge.

For C.E. King, it was a statement win built on balance, physicality, and poise — proving once again they’re a serious contender in one of Texas’s toughest districts.
