The Celina community is reeling in complete shock and horror after the arrest of Caleb Elliott, a football coach and teacher at Moore Middle School, who now faces two felony charges: invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography.
Police say Elliott, 26, was arrested earlier this month after students reported suspicious behavior in the locker room. According to an arrest affidavit, students observed him holding his phone “near his waist in a horizontal manner” and concealing it when others entered the room. Detectives later recovered 12 photos from his phone that showed boys in various states of undress, some nude, taken between April and October.
Elliott has since resigned from Celina ISD and surrendered his teaching license. The district confirmed that he is no longer employed and that an independent attorney has been hired to review hiring procedures and district operations.
The case has deeply affected the Celina community. Nearly 150 parents filled a Thursday night school board meeting, expressing both outrage and heartbreak over the allegations. Parents demanded accountability and praised the courage of the students who reported the behavior.
Celina ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Bill Elliott, Caleb’s father, addressed the meeting with a brief and emotional statement. He expressed sorrow for the victims and emphasized that justice must be served, saying that one person alone was responsible for the harm caused.
Texas Representative Jeff Leach also met with parents, assuring them that state officials are closely monitoring the case and that “everything is on the table” to ensure student safety moving forward.
As the investigation continues, Celina ISD has pledged full cooperation with law enforcement. Officials have urged the community to support affected families and remain patient as authorities pursue justice in what remains an active and deeply troubling case.
