Boswell Pioneers 2026 Season Preview
Boswell Pioneers
Head Coach: Wes Weaver (4th season; 11-19 record)
Last Season: 4-6; 2-4 in district
Returning Lettermen: 29 (8 returning starters on offense; 7 on defense)
Boswell Key Players and Storylines
Boswell had a three-win improvement in 2025, and the Pioneers may not be done with that upward climb just yet. They enter 2026 with a strong senior class and an experienced group that includes 15 returning starters.
The offense averaged just over 24 points per game a year ago and that number could climb this year. Senior quarterback Dju Dju Lords showed great improvement last year in his second year behind center. He’s joined by a dynamic duo at running back in Chance Lassiter, who’s also a threat as a pass-catcher, and Jace Richardson.
Receiver Peyton Rhodes has a knack for “making the tough catch” while Hudson Norwich has already established himself as the leader of the offensive line despite only being a junior.

He’s not the only standout junior the Pioneers have in the trenches. Defensive end Edgar Trevino “has the size, speed and motor” to be a “great defensive lineman.” Behind him, outside linebacker Maui Peters-Alo is a back-to-back all-district player, while Isaiah Nash brings plenty of physicality to his safety position.
The Pioneers will have to plug in some inexperienced players in a couple of spots, but overall there aren’t a ton of gaps in the starting lineup. As long as Boswell’s leaders can continue to develop, this group is poised to take another step forward towards playoff contention this fall.
