Reagan Key Players and Storylines

Expectations are sky-high for Reagan every year. 2026 will be no different. The Rattlers have earned 15-straight playoff appearances and finished top two in their district each of the past six seasons.

This year’s group is going to be built on defense where nine starters are back from a unit that allowed just over 23 points per game last fall. Ricky Armstrong (66 tackles, two TFLs) is a versatile cornerback whose tackling is just as strong as his ball skills. In the front seven, junior linebacker Jaden Bullock (58 tackles, seven TFLs) is great in the open field, while fellow linebacker Ayden Fernandez (85 tackles, five TFLs) is not only Reagan’s leading returning tackler but their leading returning rusher too (631 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns). Expect to hear his name a lot this fall.

Offensively, quarterback Jace Huesser is ready to take command with two years of varsity experience already under his belt. Reliable receiver Will McCabe will be a big target at 6’3”, while 6’1”, 250-pound junior offensive lineman Giovanni Cantu can dominate in the trenches.

While the Rattlers have been a constant playoff presence, they’re desperate to get back in the win column in November. In each of the past two seasons, they’ve gone out in the first round to Brennan. They’ll look to break back through this season with an experienced group that’s hungry to continue Reagan’s run of success.
