Warren Key Players and Storylines

Warren’s 2-8 record doesn’t tell the full story of its 2025 season. The Warriors actually finished 5-5 on the field but had to forfeit three of those wins due to the use of an ineligible player.

With 11 returning starters, belief is high around a program that hasn’t made the playoffs since 2022.

Offensively, they are spoiled at the quarterback position with returning starter Mac Anderson and fellow senior Derrick Romero, who transferred in from St. Anthony in San Antonio, competing for the starting job. Wide receiver Julius Daniel (405 receiving yards and seven touchdowns) will need to be the leader of the receiving corps as the group’s lone returning starter. Up front, Ethan Cantu‘s consistency at center gives the Warriors a true anchor in the trenches.

Defensively, cornerback Devin Magallanez (32 tackles, one INT) has the speed and instinctiveness to match up with opposing recievers. In the front seven, Dwight Apia has a relentless motor off the edge, while linebacker Mike Martinez is an “aggressive and willing tackler.”

If the Warriors do have a weakness, it’s on the back end of the defense where they are a little undersized and inexperienced. However, with the potential across the rest of the roster, the Warrior coaching staff fully expects Warren to be back in the playoffs this fall.
