Texas HS Football Rankings: 5A D1 & D2

Texas HS Football’s latest 5A rankings feature the top five teams in both Division I and Division II after Week 1.

In 5A Division I, DeSoto holds the top spot, followed by Randle, Smithson Valley, Denton Ryan and Lone Star. In 5A Division II, South Oak Cliff leads the way at No. 1, with Boerne at No. 2, Argyle at No. 3, Anna at No. 4 and Port Neches-Groves at No. 5.

There is plenty of talent across both divisions. The rankings highlight several of the state’s top contenders and will continue to shift as the 2026 season moves forward.
