Vladimir Garcia Wins Texas HS Football Player of the Week

El Campo senior running back has been voted the Texas HS Football Player of the Week after a dominant performance for the Ricebirds.

Garcia erupted for 268 rushing yards and three touchdowns as El Campo bounced back with a 49-14 victory over Royal. The performance continued an outstanding senior season in which Garcia has consistently powered the Ricebirds’ offense and found the end zone.

Garcia has scored 20 total touchdowns through seven full games this season and has rushed for at least 125 yards in each of those contests.

Gruver’s Jett Pittman finished next in the fan voting, followed by Odessa Permian’s Cayden Taylor and Laredo Alexander’s Emil Cardenas.

Congratulations to Garcia on earning this week’s Texas HS Football Player of the Week honor, and thank you to everyone who voted.
