Canyon is no slouch of a team, but they dominated this game against the undefeated Dumas Demons. There weren’t any playoff implications on the line, both of these teams will make the postseason. It likely decided the district title though.

Five Teams Who Impressed
Sachse
The Mustangs dominated Rowlett, winning a late-season battle of undefeated teams 33-7. Sachse has put together an impressive slate of wins so far this year, and they’re looking pretty good heading into the playoffs.
Hebron
The Hawks sealed off a huge upset over Euless Trinity, a victory that might have knocked the Trojans out of the playoffs completely. Hebron has some head-scratching losses on their resume, but they deserve their props for this game.
Sanger
There’s no shame in losing to Argyle, especially when you lose like that. Sanger was never entirely put away in this game, scrapping until the bitter end. They have three losses, but if you think that this team isn’t capable of making a playoff run, you’re crazy.
La Porte
The Bulldogs pulled off a big win over rival Deer Park last night, and look primed to sweep the rest of their district. A tough matchup against Pasadena Memorial still looms, but La Porte’s good win puts them in a good position to carry momentum through the rest of the regular season.
John Tyler
They slowed down a good Longview offense en route to a victory, and are one of the best one-loss teams in their area. They didn’t win handily, but any win over Longview is a good one.
Other Things That Should Be Mentioned
Odessa Permian Gives San Angelo Central A Scare – The Panthers couldn’t do enough to save their season, but they definitely scared the tar out of the Bobcats. Permian is still insanely young, so expect them to be very much back in a year or two.
Prayers Up For Robert Barnes – The Southlake Carroll star was carried off the field in an air cast, a broken ankle is the guessed diagnosis. This is not a good thing for the Dragons, as he was budding into a two way star.
Plano East? – The Panthers have scored 60 in three straight games, and are looking pretty good heading into the last half of the season.
