After a rough performance on Monday Night Football, the New York Jets are making another change at quarterback. Head coach Todd Bowles said that former Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty would be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.

Petty played the entire second half of Monday night’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick. He finished the game going 11 of 25 for 135 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Petty has made two appearances this season, including one start back in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Todd Bowles said in his postgame press conference that the decision to start Petty for the remainder of the season had been been made before the game. With the turmoil at the quarterback for the Jets, Petty has an opportunity to prove himself in these final four games.

The Jets travel to Santa Clara this week to play the San Francisco 49ers, followed by three straight games against Miami, at New England, and home against Buffalo to end the regular season.
