The Klein Oak Panthers have found their new head coach and they didn’t have to turn far. Defensive coordinator Jason Glenn has been promoted as the new head coach of the Panthers. The move was first reported by Matt Stepp on Thursday.

Glenn has been on staff at Klein Oak since 2012. He was also a head coach at Houston Chavez in 2011 and had been on the coaching staff at Pearland prior to his first head coaching job.
Glenn replaces David Smith, who resigned in November after 22 seasons as head coach. During Smith’s tenure, he took Klein Oak to the state quarterfinals twice, most recently in 2014.
The Panthers finished 7-4 in 2016, making the playoffs before being eliminated in the area round by Round Rock in the 6A Division I Playoffs.
