Lonnie Madison Accepts Head Coaching Job At College Park

Richard Carson, who was the only coach in the history of College Park’s program, retired in January. Ever since then, College Park has been looking for someone who can revitalize the program after a subpar 1-9 record in 2016.

They might have found that revitalization in former Klein Collins defensive coordinator Lonnie Madison. Madison was the architect of that solid Collins defense, the one that only gave up 14.1 points per game. It took a meeting with eventual state title winner DeSoto to knock Klein Collins out of the playoffs. The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees approved Madison last night, he is officially their new head coach.

College Park’s best season came in 2007, when they went 9-2, made the playoffs, and beat rival The Woodlands by a 13-7 score.
