Katy ISD has hired its assistant athletic director, Todd McVey, as the head coach of the relatively new Tompkins High School.

Tompkins High went 2-8 in their 2016 season, which included wins over Houston Heights and Mayde Creek. The former head coach, Tim Tademy, started the football program in 2013. Tademy went 5-25 before his resignation in 2017.
The Tompkins job is a difficult one, but if there’s anyone suited for it, it’s McVey. He has an extensive history coaching in the Katy ISD network, and he has a huge history with teams that aren’t doing so hot. It’s clear to see that McVey was the right choice for the Falcons.
