Crosby running back Craig Williams is making noise in the recruiting realms, and the nation is starting to take notice.
After a break out junior season that almost saw him eclipse the 1,000 total yards mark at 985 yards rushing, and 200 receiving yards, this all-purpose back is being courted by some of the state of Texas’ finest programs. Of those schools, however, the most notable is outside of Texas in Auburn.
Based on the fact that Williams possesses a good frame for a running back us his size. His speed in the open field can only be describe as devastating as well, with Williams running the 200 in track, and winning medals in the process as well. The one thing that sets this Cougar apart from the rest is that he still has many miles left in his legs. The three-time all-district selection was second in carries behind teammate Carlos Grace this past season (47), so while his production might have been down, for the amount of carries he had the stats correlated with his sophomore season. With the longevity of the running back life, this can be a valuable game changer heading into college knowing the upside Williams contains.
It is also something to take notice is the coach-ability of Williams, playing with Grace, but still contributing positively to the team and taking advice from coach’s along the way to put him in prime position to have his best year yet heading into 2017. If he can sustain his form, Texas schools won’t be the only programs on the standout’s list.
Standing offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma State have recently raised the stock for this rising senior, but the sky is the limit for Williams. If you see the hashtag “#RecruitCrosby” trending on twitter this next season, Craig Willaims will more than likely be the reason why.
