Lehman has hired former UTEP quarterback Mack Leftwich as their math teacher and offensive coordinator, as per recently hired HC Josh Kirkland:

Leftwich’s quarterback career was derailed after a 2015 season botched by two concussions that limited his production to eight games. Despite the setbacks, he still managed 1,228 passing yards, nine touchdown passes and only threw three interceptions all season. During the spring training for 2016, he damaged his shoulder and required surgery; he was ruled out of playing in the fall.
The decision to leave the game lead Leftwich to pursue a coaching career; in the spring, he suffered through 21 credit hours and a math academy course to earn his degree.
With Lehman, he will continue to recruit for the Miners: “I definitely will be an advocate for coach ‘Kugs’ and his program,” Lehman told The Prospector. “It’s the least I can do for everything he and the staff have done for me.”
Leftwich joins a Lehman program that posted a 3-7 record last year, missing the playoffs. They made significant strides in pre-district competition, but ultimately were overcame by a difficult district slate that included back-to-back games against Lake Travis and Austin Westlake.
