One of the most dynamic playmakers across the state of Texas has made his college decision. On Tuesday, Houston Lamar running back Ta’Zhawn Henry announced his commitment to TCU/Iowa State. He made the announcement live on the local ABC affiliate in Houston.

The star all-purpose back chose TCU over Iowa State and also had offers from Baylor, Houston, Oregon State and Texas A&M among others. Per 247 Sports Composite, the 5-8 back is the 19th-best all-purpose-back in the country.

Henry was a dynamic playmaker that was named the District 18-6A Offensive MVP in 2016 after rushing for 1,374 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. He also gained some national attention for a highlight reel hurdle that even made Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott take notice.

Henry also comes from a Houston Lamar team stock full of Division I talent on the offensive side of the ball from Texas commit Al’vonte Woodard to fellow athlete Kase Rogers, who announced his commitment to Oregon State earlier on Tuesday.
With the commitment, Henry becomes the 17th commit in the Class of 2018 for TCU. He should be a dynamic fit right away in Fort Worth.
Houston Lamar opens the season on September 1 at Spring Westfield.
