Houston Lamar product Josh Gordon looks for another shot at reviving his NFL career

Here we go again.

Former Houston Lamar standout Josh Gordon will make yet another attempt to survive in the NFL this season, according to ESPN.

Gordon has been suspended by the league six times since 2013 — his second professional season. Most recently, he violated the substance-abuse policy, ending his 2019 campaign on Dec. 16. He was with the Seattle Seahawks at the time.

Gordon has played just 63 games in his eight-year career, playing more than six games in a season just once (12, 2018) since 2013, and he was suspended for the entirety of the 2015 and 2016 seasons for multiple violations of the substance-abuse policy.

Additionally, while at Baylor, he was suspended indefinitely for testing positive for marijuana and later transferred to Utah.

Although many believe Gordon’s decision is due to the fact the NFL’s more lenient drug policy in the collective bargaining agreement, it is not. Gordon would be held to the previous standards if reinstated.
