On Friday night, the Vandegrift Vipers traveled to McNeil to take on the Mavericks.
Deuce Adams continued his dominating performance from last week, as he completed 14 of 19 passes for 243 yards, throwing for 3 touchdowns. Receivers finding the endzone included Miles Coleman, who had for 147 yards on 9 catches, Jordan Oliver, who pulled in 2 catches for 48 yards, and Jase Skoglund, whose lone reception resulted in a 12-yard touchdown. As the air raid offense was a huge threat to the Mavericks, the Vipers pounded the ball on the ground as well.
Zaid Oliver rushed for 46 yards on 14 carries, and Brendan Fournier rushed for 31 yards on 7 touches, finding the endzone once. The Viper’s defense was a brick wall, as they only allowed 3 points the whole night.
Vandegrift won easily 42-3.
The Vipers, now 6-0, travel to Round Rock on October 12th. The Round Rock Dragons are 3-3 on the season but are 3-0 in District 25-6A. The McNeil Mavericks fell to 3-3 and 1-2 in District play. They travel to play the Westwood Warriors on October 13th. The Warriors are also 1-2 in District play and have an overall 4-2 record.
