Duncanville showcased their championship pedigree with a commanding 56-14 victory over Rockwall in the Texas 6A Division I Area round on Friday night. The Panthers, entering the game undefeated, wasted no time asserting dominance, scoring four touchdowns in the first quarter alone to jump out to a 28-0 lead.
Quarterback Keelon Russell ignited the offense with a 51-yard shovel pass touchdown to Ayson “Ace” Theus on the game’s first play. Theus and Jaqualon Armstrong combined for three rushing scores in the opening half, and Devine Green added another highlight-worthy touchdown, making it 49-0 at halftime.
Rockwall responded with two third-quarter touchdowns, including a 74-yard pass from Brent Rickert to Camron Marsh, but the Yellowjackets could not close the gap. Robert Singleton sealed the Panthers’ scoring in the fourth quarter with a 10-yard run.
Duncanville advances to the regional quarterfinals, where it will face Waxahachie. With its explosive offense and relentless defense, the Panthers remain a strong contender for the state title.
